Florida man arrested on multiple charges

August 27 2024

Auburn, Ala. - On Aug. 26, 2024, Auburn Police, with assistance from the Orange County Corrections Department in Florida, arrested Fabian Antonio Chambers, age 29, from Ocoee, Florida, on warrants charging him with ten counts of fraudulent use of a debit/credit card and three counts of theft of property third degree.

The arrest stems from Auburn Police receiving multiple theft reports on Jan. 17, 2024. Officers met with several victims who reported that their property was stolen on Jan. 17 near the 300 block of Mell Street. Credit and debit cards were among the items stolen, and the victims reported numerous fraudulent charges were made locally and outside of Auburn.

Fabian Antonio Chambers was developed as a suspect, and after further investigation, arrest warrants were obtained. Auburn Police received notification that Chambers was in custody at the Orange County Jail in Florida for similar crimes committed in other police jurisdictions.

After waiving extradition, Chambers was transported to the Auburn Police Department on Aug. 26, 2024, and he was arrested in obedience to the outstanding warrants. Chambers was transported to the Lee County Jail and held on a $19,500 bond.

All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
